Luino - The town of Luino

Luino has a population of 14.187 abitanti (Luinesi) and a surface of 20,9 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 678,80 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 202 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Luino had a popolation of 14.883 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 14.187 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -4,68% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 5.805 families with an average of 2,44 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 193 and 630 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 437 metres.

Work and workers:There are 281 industrial firms employing 1.129 people that are the 27,37% of the total of the workers. There are 287 service firms employing 928 people that are the 6,96% of the total of the workers. There are also 416 firms employing 1.566 people that are the 22,50% of the total of the workers. There are also 86 administrative offices emplying 1.758 workers that are the 10,08% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 4.125 workers, that are the 29,08% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
