Sesto San Giovanni has a population of 75.421 abitanti (Sestesi) and a surface of 11,7 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 6446,24 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 140 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Sesto San Giovanni had a popolation of 86.721 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 75.421 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -13,03% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 36.444 families with an average of 2,07 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 130 and 147 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 17 metres.

Work and workers:There are 977 industrial firms employing 8.441 people that are the 37,88% of the total of the workers. There are 1.310 service firms employing 4.292 people that are the 5,88% of the total of the workers. There are also 1.940 firms employing 7.402 people that are the 19,26% of the total of the workers. There are also 208 administrative offices emplying 2.377 workers that are the 8,71% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 22.283 workers, that are the 29,54% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
